Brett Yates has been named CEO of the Michelson Found Animals (MFA). He has been MFA’s chief operating officer since 2018.
A passionate advocate for animals, Yates has decades of experience in program development, finance, startups, and strategic investments. He’s led such MFA initiatives as Leap Venture Studio, supporting pet care startups; the Better Neighbor Project, partnering with human service organizations to support underserved communities and their pets; and the Pet-Inclusive Housing Initiative, which helps demonstrate the benefits of pet-friendly housing.
“I believe MFA can play a big role in creating a world where everyone, regardless of their socioeconomic status, has access to the joy of pets,” Yates says. “Going forward, MFA will be tackling large societal issues at any point where pets and people intersect and we look forward to creating a better world for pets and their people.”
